A Week To Remember
Monday I found out that my Dad died. He was my adopted Father, but still. He treated my twin sister and I as his own. Legally we were his kids. He is who we called Dad. He knew he was dying and we got to see him a few months before he died. I am thankful that we all had a chance to see him one last time. We knew he was dying, but did not expect him to go so soon. He will always be loved and remembered. Rest in Peace Dad.
As if that were not enough…… Wednesday I experienced my first earthquake.
Wednesday I awoke early then later decided to take a nap. As I was napping I began to dream that there was an earthquake in Dallas and that it was just a forshock to a bigger earthquake. I awoke and the trailer was shaking. Everything around me was shaking. The couch I was laying on was shaking. My initial reaction was, “EARTHQUAKE!”, but I was not entirely sure it was an earthquake. I had never been in an earthquake before and besides… The area that I live in (Texoma) is not earthquake prone. Immediately after the shaking stopped I texted my cousin and asked him if he felt an earthquake. He did not feel the earthquake because he was driving. Then my Mother called me and the first words out of her mouth were, “Did you feel it?”… I said, “EARTHQUAAAAAAAAAKEE!! Yeah.. I felt it… I thought I was crazy…I didn’t think there would be an earthquake here! How’d you know?” My Mother replied, “I got a feeling to look at the TV and I put it on the Weather Channel. It was breaking news that an earthquake struck 10 miles East of Norman, Oklahoma.”
